Sericea Lespedeza

AU Grazer Sericea Lespedeza

AU Grazier

This perennial lespedeza plant is often jokingly referred to as "the poor man's alfalfa". It can tolerate a low pH, has few insects, and lower overall fertility requirements. While it can tolerant poor soil conditions, it will increase in performance as soil conditions improve. The tannin concentration helps control the barber pole worm in small ruminants. Can be harvested for wet hay, dry hay, or planted for grazing.
