With it's dry stalk, millet is one of the easier summer annuals to use for a mutlicut dry hay system. Tolerates a broader range of soil conditions than sorghum sudan or sudangrass. They have better tillering capacity than the sorghums, but do grow in height a little slower. Does not run the risk of prussic acid poisoning, is safe for horses, and is not affected by the sugarcane aphid.
