Bahiagrass
Bahiagrass has dense rhizomes, which results in heavy spreading and excellent weed competition. Growth begins in early spring and continues midsummer when the seedheads mature. Late summer growth is slow and low quality. Very low fertility requirements but does not overseed as reliably with winter annuals as bermudagrass. Can grow well in high organic matter and poorly drained soils.
