Mixture Components
Annual Ryegrass
Makes up the bulk of the mixture, providing heavy ground cover and yield throughout the late fall and in the spring.
Crimson Clover
Provides substantial protein and adds nitrogen to the soil, which over time reduces the need for nitrogen fertilizer.
Brassicas
These fast-growing brassicas provide quick grazing in the fall through winter, attracting wildlife early in the season. Once temperatures reach the teens for several days, expect some winter kill.
Chicory
A biennial forb that is very drought tolerant, this low fiber, mineral-dense forage will provide growth for several years.
Planting Instructions
Broadcasting this mix is recommended, but the seeds still need contact with the soil. Remove as much of the previous crop residue as possible. Consider dragging before (to remove residue) and after seeding.
